From his first days on the island, Kurt Konrad Mayer demonstrated a bold vision and an unwavering entrepreneurial spirit. In 1973, he founded the company KURT KONRAD Y CÍA, SA, thus marking the beginning of a saga of projects that would leave an indelible mark on the island.
The first steps of this business adventure came to light with tourist complexes such as Las Flores, Villaflor, and Villamar, which laid the foundations for what would evolve into the HOVIMA hotel chain. Kurt Konrad Mayer became a pioneer of tourism and economic development in the south of Tenerife, especially in the municipality of Adeje.
In 1983, Mayer's vision materialized in the Hotel Las Palmeras, in Playa de Las Américas. This opening was revolutionary, redefining the standard of the tourism industry and catalyzing the economic dynamism of the south of the island.
The following years witnessed a prolific era for the company, with projects such as Los Geranios, Las Carabelas, Panorama, Club Atlantis, Paraíso del Sur, Oasis Paraíso, Hotel Santiago, Hotel La Pinta, Aparthotel Altamira, Aparthotel Santa María, among others. At the same time, the acquisition of the banana farms of the English firm Fyffes marked the beginning of a new phase in the development of high-end tourist and residential developments, without neglecting agriculture.
In this period, Kurt Konrad Mayer also left an indelible mark on the educational community in the south of Tenerife by promoting the creation of the “Alexander Von Humboldt German School”, today known as “Colegio Internacional Costa Adeje”. His social commitment was also reflected in the promotion of the Playa de Las Américas Tourist Group and in his role as president of the Rotary Club Tenerife, contributing to the general well-being of the island.
In the 90s, Mayer continued with emblematic projects that consolidated the south of Tenerife as the epicenter of the island's economic and commercial development. Projects such as the Costa Adeje Golf Course gave a qualitative leap to tourism in Adeje.
